The "Time is Now" is a teaching on the Old Testament Book of Haggai. Haggai was a minor prophet, which does not mean that he was less important, but rather that his words were few in number.  However, be warned…  Sometimes those people who speak little carry a large punch.

Haggai was used by God to help the people of Israel refocus on the work God has for them.  You see, the people of God has kind of lost their way.  They were charged with rebuilding the temple of God, but when things got difficult, they stopped building.  What did they do?  Well, instead of building God's house, they worked on their own house.  They were more interested in their comfort than they were in showing God to the rest of the world.

The words of Haggai are as relevant to us today as they were in Haggai's day.  The prophet's words remind that even amid life's difficulties, we can follow God.  God is with us and will help us complete the work he has planned for us.

The Hard Right

In this introductory teaching, Pastor Mike introduces the Prophet Haggai and his message to the people of Israel.  The temple they were sent to rebuild is in ruin, and the people of Israel are more interested in comfort than obedience.  God uses Haggai to remind the people to choose the hard right over the easy wrong.

Persevering Through Discouragement

There is not a person alive who has not dealt with discouragement.  In fact, it may surprise you that the Bible is full or stories of people who dealt with this. While the teachings of Jesus offer hope to those who journey through the valley of discouragement, it does not always deliver us from discouragement.  We return to the teachings of Haggai to learn how to remain faithful in times of discouragement.

The Blessing of Obedience

Two problems plagued the people in Haggai’s day, and if were being honest they plagues our lives today as well.  Conditional obedience and the corruptive power of sin both keep us from the heart of God.  But in this lesson we learn that We do not obey God so that he will bless us.  We obey God because we love him.
